Welcome to the In2Neighbourhoods Blog!

If you want to make a difference where you live out of love for God and neighbour, then you’ve come to the right place!  The In2N Blog is where I’ll be highlighting resources, sharing stories, and providing how-to tips for you and your church, on how to bridge the gap with your local community.  We’ll look with fresh eyes at the useful components that make up Christian Community Development, Faith based Social Innovation, and Missional Communities, and translate their principles and practises into easy-to-understand processes that you can use as a creative and Spirit-filled agent of change.

Join the In2N community of friends as I blog about how you or your church can bring the love of God and His Kingdom into the neighbourhood where you live. Matter-a-fact, God’s coming to the ‘blue marble’ – planet earth — is where the inspiration for In2Neighbourhoods came from. God made it His mission to show us who He is in the person of Jesus. What He did was this: ‘The Word [God] became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighbourhood.‘ (The Message). And God is at work in 2 neighbourhoods – church and community.  He has both defined where He resides, and also bridged the gap between these 2 communities.

The In2Neighbourhoods Blog is for you and/or your church if:

  • You’re seeking inspiration on how to get involved in your local community and want to make a measurable impact for the Kingdom of God
  • You want to understand why and how the church should engage the local community through asset based community development
  • You’d like to grow in your ability to problem solve in innovative ways for addressing social challenges, and the ability to do it in partnership with others
  • You want to unlock the mystery of missional communities and learn more about what it means to make disciples

So, I invite you to leave comments, ask questions, share your own stories.  Welcome to this journey of faith … we’ll sure to have fun along the way!
